Overloaded with talent at Yahoo!’s Resumix division

By my count, there are 11 people (Cheryl, Keith, Paul, Drew, Gigi, Dave, Jeff, Annie, Leslie, Ivan, and Peter) from the Genealogy.com development team now working in the Resumix division at Yahoo!. Having worked with each of these people for years it’s clear that MyFamily.com, Inc.’s loss has been Yahoo!’s gain. I’m not quite sure [...]

Studying up for a phone screen

I had a phone screen today with someone from Cloudmark. Since being prepared for interviews is a good thing, I had decided to bone up a bit. I’d used Cloudmark’s consumer product, Spamnet, while it was in beta so I had a good idea of how it worked (and had always noted that people who’d [...]

The prophet Paul told me so

My friend, Paul (known sometimes as Pablo to avoid confusion with me), told me he had been sending out resumes for a month before he started receiving nibbles. Since I only started sending out resumes after returning from my daughter’s national dance finals, this week marks my one-month time period. So far this week – [...]
